Meet the Puyallup Team Behind DryMark Restoration Puyallup

Our Puyallup crew is the same faces on every job, not a rotating door of subcontractors. We’re the people who answer when you call (253) 447-5249 at 2 a.m. because water’s coming through your ceiling in South Hill, and we’re the same people who hand you the photo record and signed warranty when we’re done. What ties us together is The Haven Standard, Clause 1 through Clause 7, applied the same way whether we’re drying out a ranch in Midland or remediating mold in a Sumner basement.

Our People

Alicia Brennan, Owner

I started DryMark Restoration Puyallup in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster, mostly handling disputes between homeowners and restoration contractors over documentation gaps. The same pattern kept repeating: a crew would finish work, the homeowner would submit the invoice, and the carrier would deny it for lack of moisture logs, photo sequences, or a written scope signed before work began. I built this company to close that gap. I still review every job file before it goes to billing, and I still take calls from adjusters who want to understand why our documentation holds up when others don’t. Outside of work, I restore vintage Craftsman tools, which is either patience practice or just another form of fixing things that got wet.

Marcus T., Lead Water Technician

Marcus has been with us since 2017, which in this trade means he’s dried everything from a pinhole leak in a Puyallup Valley crawl space to a full Category 3 flood in a commercial kitchen off Meridian. He’s IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD), and he’s the technician who trains our apprentices on reading psychrometric data, the humidity and temperature measurements that tell us whether a wall is actually dry or just surface-dry. Marcus grew up in Graham, so he knows which Puyallup neighborhoods sit on clay soil that holds moisture against foundations and which ones drain fast. He keeps a laminated map of local water table depths in his truck, which he updates whenever we hit an unusual subsurface condition.

Dana K., Senior Mold Remediation Installer

Dana joined us in 2019 with eight years of remediation experience already in her toolkit, and she quickly became our go-to for jobs where containment strategy matters, which is most of them. She’s certified through IICRC in Mold Remediation (AMRT) and specializes in negative air pressure setups, the engineering control that keeps mold spores from migrating through HVAC systems during removal. Dana’s particular about material classification: she’ll identify whether we’re dealing with Category 1 clean water damage that spawned mold, or Category 2 gray water, or Category 3 black water, because each classification changes the demolition scope and the documentation required for insurance. She lives in Bonney Lake and commutes past Lake Tapps every morning, which she mentions only to explain why she’s unusually good at identifying moisture intrusion from hillside runoff.

James R., Service Coordinator

James is the voice you hear when you call (253) 447-5249, and he’s the one who keeps our schedule honest, which means he tells you the real arrival window, not the one that sounds good and gets broken. He’s been with us since 2020, and before that he dispatched for a Pierce County fire department, so he’s calm on calls where the homeowner is not. James coordinates with adjusters, schedules our Dri-Eaz and Phoenix equipment deployments, and makes sure every job file has its photo record, drying log, and written scope before anyone leaves the site. He’s the one who catches if a moisture reading got logged in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, which happened once on a downtown Puyallup job and could have skewed three days of data. James coaches youth baseball in Edgewood and applies the same precision to lineup cards that he does to our documentation checklists.

Elena V., Restoration Apprentice

Elena started with us in 2023 after completing a construction technology program at Bates Technical College, and she’s working through her IICRC certifications while rotating through each of our service lines. Right now she’s shadowing Marcus on water jobs and Dana on mold containment builds, learning to set up Injectidry systems for wall cavity drying and to read vapor pressure differentials, the measurement that tells us whether moisture is actively moving out of a material or just sitting there. Elena asks the questions that remind the rest of us what we stopped explaining, which makes her good at translating trade vocabulary for homeowners who want to understand what we’re doing and why. She grew up in a 1920s farmhouse near Orting, so she’s personally familiar with the challenges of retrofitting modern drying systems into older construction with no vapor barriers and balloon framing.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard isn’t a slogan we put on trucks. It’s a seven-clause operating agreement that Alicia wrote in 2011 and that every person on this page follows without exception. Clause 1: written price before work begins. Clause 3: documented photo record on every visit. Clause 7: 365-Day Done Right Promise, signed and stamped, not verbal. Whether we’re deployed through our Puyallup hub or coordinating with other independently owned and operated teams across the network, the same documentation requirements apply, the same equipment standards apply, and the same person answers the phone when you call. We’ve restored over 12,000 homes since 2011, and every one of them has a file we could pull today and explain to an adjuster, a homeowner, or a judge. That’s not compliance. That’s the job.
